What an inspection costs

We love simple pricing, so we have two options below.

Included in every inspection

  • Reciprocal Website Link

    We’ll feature your business and website in our blog section in return for a link to Midland Play Inspections from your website.

  • Written report

    You get a full PDF report with photographs, emailed within a few days of the inspection.

  • Blower PAT test

    We PAT test the blower and its fly lead as part of the unit inspection.

  • A fault list you can act on

    Anything we find is written out with what it is, why it matters and what will put it right.

  • Travel, within reason

    Travel across Warwickshire is free , the rest of the Midlands may have an extra charge depending on distance and amount of testing.

  • Asking us things afterwards

    If a venue queries your paperwork six months later, ring us. We don't bill for a phone call.

The cheapest way to do it

Fleet day rate

£500 + travel for a full day, covering as many units as we can get through, typically ten to twelve depending on size and how well organised the store is. Reports for everything inspected are included.

If you've got more than about ten units, a fleet day almost always beats per-unit pricing. Two operators sharing a day at one venue works too, and splits the travel between you.

Winter and midweek days are the easiest to get and the least disruptive to your season.

Common questions about cost

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is free within Warwickshire and will depend on test amounts in the Midlands. Beyond that it's quoted up front as a single figure, never a per-mile total you find out about afterwards. On fleet days, travel is a single charge for the day regardless of how many units we get through.

What if a unit fails?

You still pay the inspection fee, because the work has been done and you get the report either way. The re-check after a repair is usually free if it's done while we're still in the area or bundled into your next visit.

Is there a minimum charge?

For a single small unit a long way from base, travel can outweigh the inspection fee. It's usually worth waiting until you've got two or three to do, or joining onto another operator's fleet day nearby. We'll tell you if that's the cheaper option.

Can I pay per unit on a fleet day?

Yes, if you'd rather. For small fleets it can work out cheaper. We'll price it both ways and you take whichever is lower.

We test bouncy castles, slides, obstacle courses, disco domes, soft play and ball pools to BS EN 14960-1:2019, and we come to you anywhere across the Midlands. One unit or a full fleet, and we work all year round so your kit is tested when it isn't earning.
